SUMMARY
- A fan-made trailer for the Invincible live-action movie features Henry Cavill as Omni-Man and Timothée Chalamet as Invincible, sparking debate among fans.
- Fans are questioning the casting choices, citing concerns that Cavill's strong association with Superman would diminish the impact of Omni-Man, and Chalamet's screen presence doesn't align with Mark Grayson.
- The Invincible live-action movie has been in development for years, with creator Robert Kirkman recently expressing optimism that the project will move forward.
Invincible has established itself as a superhero franchise that is in a league of its own. In a world where more ‘family-friendly’ franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe or DCU dominate the discourse, Robert Kirkman-created adult animated superhero series and comic books have provided fans with an alternative that is more rooted in reality and relatable.

While the series is in its third season, a live-action movie is said to be in the making for a long time. Recently, some fan-made trailers of the same have been creating a ruckus on the internet featuring Henry Cavill as Omni-Man and Timothée Chalamet as Invincible, which honestly, sounds like a bad idea.
Invincible live-action movie fan-made trailer creates havoc among fans

With the rapid rise of live-action adaptations of beloved animated projects and comic book properties, Invincible is next in line. Announced almost a decade ago, creator Robert Kirkman recently spoke about the project, which apparently has been lying dormant since the day it was first announced.
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Kirkman stated that he would be left shocked if the project did not come about. While we await a live-action film, fan-made and AI-generated trailers are already making rounds on the internet, containing some pretty divisive cast decisions.
One such trailer was made by KH Studio, starring Henry Cavill as Omni-Man aka Nolan Grayson, and Timothée Chalamet as Invincible aka Mark Grayson. However, this fan-made trailer isn’t the only one and a simple Google search will reveal the plethora of trailers featuring the two stars. Another one of these ‘popular’ concept trailers can be found here, by Screen Culture.
As good as they might look, the casting seems too disastrous of a choice for several reasons.
Henry Cavill as Omni-Man and Timothée Chalamet as Invincible is a bad idea

Henry Cavill is no stranger to playing powerful, godlike figures, whether it be his stint in the DCEU as the Man of Steel or Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher. However, having him as Omni-Man is a terrible choice. Omni-Man is a ruthless, morally complex character, and Cavill’s strong ties to his Superman role would potentially diminish the impact of the Invincible character.
Can’t say I understand the people that want Henry Cavill as a live action Omni Man. Not that I don’t like the guy I just don’t think that’s a good fit for him

Mark is Wasian bro, I’d even take outright Asian, if they cast Timothee Chalamet or Tom Holland I will actually hang myself on live TV

i think i would literally kill myself if henry cavill was cast as omni man and timmy chalamet as invincible

Moreover, while he might fit the look and the physicality, the actor’s on-screen presence naturally leans towards more noble, heroic figures. Even though he has the acting chops, some fans further feel that he would be a terrible fit for the role. As for Timothée Chalamet, the choice alone seems very questionable.
Even though Chalamet is a very talented actor and recently received an Oscar nod, his screen presence and physicality don’t seem to align well with Mark Grayson. Additionally, Mark is half-Asian and demands a certain level of youthful charm and a traditional everyman quality, making the Dune star not really a good choice. As much as fans love Henry Cavill and Timothée Chalamet, their potential involvement in Invincible might not be for the best.
Invincible is available to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
